Our tiered and single tier cakes are covered in buttercream or fondant icing.
Underneath they are covered with a thin layer of Belgian chocolate ganache, or buttercream (dependant on the size and design) or marzipan (for dark fruit cake). This provides the foundation for a smooth and flawless finish and keeps the cakes moist.
about Joni.
Joni has always loved painting since she was a little girl. She would draw and paint whenever she was felling bored, sad, tensed, or stressed. Not long after coming to NZ as a high school girl, she found herself a new relaxing hobby — baking. She enjoyed making birthday cakes for family and friends, and loved seeing peoples’ happy faces when seeing the elaborately decorated cakes.
After working in a few different jobs including cafe manager, Joni developed deeper love on cooking. In 2014, Joni decided to treat herself a professional training at Le Cordon Bleu, the world renown culinary institute. Nine months later, she successfully graduated with Grand Diploma De Cuisine et De Patisserie, and achieved distinction.
After a few more years of practicing and exploring in cake creation, Joni opened her own cake studio, specialised in providing designer wedding cakes and celebration cakes. She enjoy putting her artistic skills and designer thinking into cake creations, and very pleased she could now share her patisserie work with a wider audience.
